A new take on an old square

Today I'm making a start on a cover for this big red floor cushion. I'm using wool that I have spun by hand. The basket in the foreground holds a range of the some of my hand spun wool. The cover will be made up of different knitted squares taken from a pattern for an American afghan. The cat, Penny, thought she could help.
