Murmuration

A choice from 460 shots taken today, all from within a hide at Aqualate Mere, Nr. Newport. Got to do some work on my long telephoto technique but what I really wanted was to see a starling murmuration a fellow 'tog had told me about.

So after almost three hours in a cold hide here it was,............ about 1/2 a mile away!

It was still impressive but oh, how I wish I was nearer. The starlings are just beginning to funnel before roosting in the reed beds to the right.

At least I know it happens, and next time I will move further down the mere to maximise my chances of a better shot.
