Smoke at Styes of Aikerness

I was volunteering again with the RSPB back in Evie removing non-native lodgepole pine from a moorland reserve. So working too hard to have time for photography. It was a far better day for bonfires than the first wo days up here. We got three fires going and reduced masses of brash to ash.

It does feel, though, as if I'm one of the firemen in Fahrenheit 451 burning books instead of extinguishing blazes...in my case working with a conservation society removing trees. But there are good reasons for removing non-native species. I'm just too tired to go into them.
