Reflecting icily upon perfection

We went for a 6 mile walk today, along the Fynn river.

First we walked along one side of the river valley, where the sun hadn't yet touched. Here bare branches were jewelled with frost , and this still, half-frozen pool reflected the branches above so perfectly it was hard to believe you couldn't just reach in and pull them out.

We then crossed the river to walk back on the other side, under clear skies and hot sun. It was as if we had changed seasons in seconds.
