Growing old disgracefully

By GOD

Bare Heided Duke

Car in the garage, so I headed into town by train for the weekly 'date' with my best beloved. We were not terribly inspired by exhibits in GOMA, although Alisdair Gray's City Recorder pictures engaged us for some time. The Art Store opposite is much more inspiring, but I had to be dragged out as the temptation to buy unnecessary but wonderfully colourful beads, ribbons and other accessories was so compelling. We were the only customers in the whole of Princes Square where we had a peaceful cup of coffee but were somewhat frustrated by not being able to carry out our usual passion of people watching.
Images of this statue are such a cliché, but I rather like the illusion of the Duke riding off town Ingram Street, no doubt in search of his missing hat.
