Bridge over the Shannon

This bridge spans the River Shannon at Lough Ree and connects the villages of Ballyleague (Co Roscommon) & Lanesborough (Co Longford).

In the centre of the bridge is the marker stone to show where you have stepped from one county into the other. This area is very popular with anglers from all over Europe as the warm water created by the nearby power station in Lanesborough seems to draw the fish in.

It is a really nice area with good walks, scenery and history.
