The tameness of the Chaffinch

Well after the forecast heralded there be sun in the afternoon today it has remained grey, cloudy and cold. But I needed a blip so out I went to see what was about! These female Chaffinches are quite tame (the males are a bit more wary), so I found myself scattering more sunflower hearts on the table and the log and lo and behold out of nowhere this beautiful bird arrived shadowed by a more shy male. She looked at me with that sideways look that birds do when looking at humans. Is it safe to proceed to the food or is that two legs going to hurt me? You have nothing to fear from me sweet bird I only wish for your photograph to show these lovely blippers. Wish granted! :)
