Looking out to the Atlantic!

What a glorious day this has been! The sun shone, the skies were blue and it wasn't ass biting cold!!! Terry and i took the dogs on a lovely walk beside our place....it was perfect, except i tripped and fell....and of course my first concern was 'my camera.....' it didn't get damaged but the lens got a good coating in snow!

Then there was the first meeting of the group that was called Bits of Books last year, and is now callling itself "Wildfire Winter Salon".....Wildfired because it is hosted by Sarah, the potter who owns and runs Wildfire Pottery and Books! here is how wiki describes a salon:

A salon is a gathering of people under the roof of an inspiring host, held partly to amuse one another and partly to refine taste and increase their knowledge of the participants through conversation. These gatherings often consciously followed Horace's definition of the aims of poetry, "either to please or to educate" ("aut delectare aut prodesse est"). Salons, commonly associated with French literary and philosophical movements of the 17th and 18th centuries, were carried on until quite recently, in urban settings, among like-minded people.

Susan, the woman who started this up last year, hosted the first one with some inspiring poetry by William Stafford. Here is one of the 3 poems that were read out.

YES.

It could happen any time, tornado,
earthquake, Armageddon. It could happen.
Or sunshine, love, salvation.

It could, you know. That's why we wake
and look out - no guarantees
in this life.

But some bonuses, like morning,
like right now, like noon,
like evening.

then some very lively discussions took place! It was so stimulating and interesting. It felt good to dust off the cobwebs inside my brain and pay attention and try and contribute to the discussion.
