I'd like to be, under the sea..

My first blipfoto upload. So why not make it my current favourite photograph? (if not all time favourite).

Meedhupparu, Maldives. A mid-afternoon session of snorkelling in the Indian Ocean led myself and my friend to this not so little guy. Our new best friend. Or as we now like to call him, Oscar Wilde. Because he's a WILD turtle.. See what we did there?

Swimming with this graceful creature for the majority of an hour was an incredible and truly exhilarating experience, one that I'm extremely grateful for. Not even the professional scuba divers, telling us how lucky we were to be in the right place at the right time, could make me anymore thankful than I already am.

After nearly an hour of swimming back and forth along the coral with Oscar, watching him occasionally come up for one big gasp of air, he dove down too deep in the ocean for us to follow him. But we couldn't complain, later on in the night Oscar returned in order to be fed by the local fisherman, along with his friend who we accordingly named Virginia Woolf. It's safe to say my friend has a 'classic author' obsession..
