Sunspots

Projecting the solar disc onto a piece of card (backing from a photo/print) today to see if many sunspots and indeed can see a couple of clumps. The Sun's at its activity maximum at the moment. A flare and CME (coronal mass ejection) shot off a couple of days ago and should be hitting earth tonight. Not sure that we'll see an aurora down here in Ireland and of course it is mainly cloudy..but you never know...

(ps. telescope+Sun = blindness , so use a projection method as I did, just holding a piece of cardboard in front of a lens).
