Hunter on the bank

C and I braved the wind and cold today to walk around the lakes and along the river at Ferry Meadows. As we walked by the river, a family of swans landed on the water, their feet slapping along the surface before splash down - a wonderful sight. And as we rounded a corner on the home straight we spotted this heron hunting along the water's edge on a backwater. He stood his ground while I captured the moment.

For the record: 10C max but felt cooler because of the wind, sunny spells and showers.
