Don't Stand in my Light

A Tree ...

A Tree grows in Brooklyn was written in the year I was born and I first read it when I was 11. It made an enormous impression on me and I played the part of Francie in a school production when I was 14. (By coincidence, my oldest sister was also called Francie)

Every day, we go to feed the birds in an urban car park in a not-very-salubrious area. This tree, stuck in the middle of concrete yet valiantly throwing a beautiful shadow, reminds me so much of the tree that I tried to capture the effect. I think it needs more than an iPhone to do it justice, though.
