South Point Self Portrait

South Point is located on the Big Island of Hawaii. It is in fact the southernmost point in the United States. Here the island juts out into the open expanse of the Pacific Ocean, and consequently takes the full brunt of the sea climate. Hence, it is a bit windy.

I only nearly got blown off the cliffs once. After that I kept my distance.

Like many places here, the point is alive with a potent natural energy. This island is a very dynamic place.
