20 days old
Since they left the nest, I haven't seen the blackbird chicks again until today, although I've heard them. Both chicks seem to have survived so far - they've obviously mastered flying upwards! The parents will continue to feed them for another two weeks.
All four birds were lurking about the garden this evening, but mostly not in camera range. This chick seems to be starting to get black feathers, which means it's a male (females stay brown). Couldn't see the other closely enough to tell at this stage. The yellow bill and eye ring are still to come.
A bit unsharp, but not too bad for through the window in fading light. I may be beginning to get the hang of this...
He's grown quite a lot since six days ago. (Sigh! Seems only yesterday they were just little bald entrees...)
