Ushuaia,Tierra Del Fuego,Argentina

This is the most southerly city on earth and kick off point for Antartica. It is also close to Cape Horn and notorious for its ill tempered weather which is reflected in the number of shipwrecks around the area.
The good weather continues and we only need it to hang on for another day to get us round Cape Horn and into Chile. This used to be a prosperous city because ships going on to North America before the Panama canal was built in 1913 had to call in here. It is now mainly a fishing and tourism, backpacking and cruise port but it is still sadly down at heel.
We enjoyed a fresh King Crab lunch so no complaints here!
