The Phoenix Rises

Crossing with style

The walk to our favourite place was more difficult than previously. The wind, (a bit drafty as local Callum called it), was a force 5-6. The sleet and hail, punctuated the day and the rain soaked through the " waterproof" clothing. We got to the isalnd with only a few minutes before the water would close the path across and true to form, we had a slightly wet return run through it.

The route across the water was by the rope "bridge" and up the old track. The amount of fallen trees was astounding. Several detours around large fallen pines made it an interesting climb back up the hill.

As always, non of this made the walk any less enjoyable.
Guide dog puppy Vader seemed to enjoy it too and managed to sleep right in the middle of the kitchen floor. The gang all got together and made a lovely dinner.
Our American friends tasted, haggis, neeps and tatties, roast turkey and Clouttie dumpling to finish.

Some Werewolves were not killed and a fun evening was had by all.
