Dark's Cave

Whilst I was toiling away at work today and late into the evening, Mr C and Zoe went for a walk down to Dark's Cave.

This is a little known walk, very steep with expansive views into the Grose Valley and other interesting features such as Arethusa Falls. At the cave there is a register stored in a metal box for visitors to sign. It appears that visitors are not a regular occurrence. I have not done this walk myself, but was taken with Zoe's photos, so I am cheating today, by uploading something that I didn't actually have anything to do with.

Dark's Cave is interesting on a number of levels, particularly in that local resident, Doctor Eric Dark and his family used to holiday down in the cave in the 1930's and '40's. All this time, much of their camping equipment has been left, including cooking utensils, shoes etc. It is tradition that these not be touched, and it appears that, so far, that's exactly what's happened. Zoe had some interesting photos of these, but the light level was low, so went for this rather dramatic and gorgeous vista instead.

Don't know if this is allowed, but what the heck.
