Shoe porn...

I almost got run over today. I have a habit of jaywalking personally I blame my Mum for that particular habit. I am a dodger of traffic at the best of times, always have been and at the moment the city centre is ridiculous because of the tram works. I crossed the road on South Charlotte Street, the lights were at red and all the buses were stopped so I thought I'd sneak between them... clearly the taxi that almost mowed me down had the same idea. He missed me by a whisker. Was way too close for comfort. All I could think about was that he'd have hit my camera first! Yes... I'm rolling my eyes at myself too! I waited for the green man on the way back.

Anyway... I went to buy a book. I'd like the box set of the Secret Seven by Enid Blyton so I pottered along to Waterstone's to have a poke round the kids books. I re-read The Magic Faraway Tree last year, that was my favourite book when I was a kid and it was just as awesome as an adult. I really wish I'd kept my books from my childhood. I loved Enid Blyton... I suspect she wasn't the nicest person in the world but she wrote utterly brilliant books! Alas they didn't have the box set in the shop, I'll need to try online because I don't want to buy them all separately.

So I wandered along the shops and somehow found myself in Dune I have no idea how that happened but I think it might have had something to do with the 70% off sign in the window! I've been looking for a pair of heeled ankle boots since my last pair of favourites fell to pieces so I figured it couldn't do any harm to have a bit of a look round. I should probably tell you now that the boots in the photo above are absolutely not the boots I bought!! Whilst I have a ridiculously large collection of shoes/boots etc. I do not own boots such as these mainly because I'm not a member of Abba or have any desire to look like a gimp! No... the boots I bought are lovely and the sale was so good... I bought TWO pairs! Hurrah for January sales and beautiful shoes!!

I have decided that I am going to do a bit of a shoe project and take a picture of every single pair of shoes I own and see just how fabulously ridiculous ace my shoe collection is! I'll link it when I'm finished so that you can see how fabulously ridiculous ace my shoe collection is too! Don't hold your breath on this one though... it will take a ridiculously long time... there were 200 pairs at the last count about three years ago.

I'd just like to say a special thank you to the squirrels, who have saved me an absolute fortune over the last few months... spending my lunchtimes in the cemetery means that I'm not feeding my retail therapy habit. My theory in life, other than 'what's meant for you, won't go by you' is that retail therapy is the answer to any problem regardless of the nature! Without doubt!
