Snow on the Voe

Beautiful still, clear cold morning on Shetland today. This meant lots of very still flat bits of water to look for reflections in. This is the northern tip of Weisdale Voe, with the sugar-coated Weisdale Hill behind it.

I was in this bit of the island to visit the new exhibition at the Bonhoga Gallery in Weisdale. This is a collection of photographs taken by local photographer Dennis Coutts in the 1960's - if you happen to be on Shetland between now and the start of March it is certainly worth a visit.

Unfortunately, the clear weather didn't hold out past sunset - so the Northern Lights are no doubt doing their thing far above the thick layer of cloud.
