Egyptian Reggae

An exotic pair of visitors to the ornamental ponds at The National Archives today. While a fire alarm drove everybody out of the building at lunchtime, this fine fellow and his mate came in to land honking and squaking at just above head height. They were still around a while later but eating the grass when I went out at lunchtime, and obliged by posing for photos.

According to the RSPB website the Egyptian Goose (for it is he) is only resident in North Norfolk but there are other websites that have them established in London generally. But I've not seen them at work before. I can report they like grass and clover.
