I was at a meeting in Glasgow today at some swanky new offices of a law firm which is dealing with my mother's will. Before we started, I noticed a chair in the corner with a notice that read as follows :-

"This chair belonged to Dr Edward William Pritchard who was the last man to be publicly executed in Scotland on the 28th July 1865"

Is that not a bit bizarre? So the lawyers picked over his belongings and reckoned the chair would be nice in their office?
