A morning to savour

Came back up to the beach yesterday evening. Woke after sunrise, to see that the sky was still reddish gold. Put on some sandals and got out the camera and went to the most easterly corner of the property, on the edge of the cliff (which, while steep, is not precipitate and is covered by vegetation). This is the third of three photos which I took. I chose it over the other two because of the better colours in the sky, and the wavelets crossing the beam of light in the water. The wavelets were the effect of the tide going out in a channel.

A satisfying day of small tasks. Put up some mirrors, and some pictures on the walls. Found the screws for the face plates over the electricity outlets, and put them back on (taken off by the paperhanger). Organised some of the post family chaos (daughter-in-law did lots before they left, but there is only so much that is possible).

The final task was finding the leak that concerned mother-in-law. For some time there has been a lot of water on the roadway in front of her house. I had been aware of this and that it was coming from a drain from three houses away up the hill slightly. Confirmed that, and found that the apparent problem for MIL was that there is such overgrowth of agapanthus and accumulation of leaves and mud under their leaves that the gutter was blocked. An hour later, all clear and no longer any suggestion of water leak from her property. Happy MIL.

Tomorrow is Auckland Anniversary Day. It is also our wedding anniversary.
