Anteaques tea house

Our afternoon quest to buy a specific mug in Edinburgh this afternoon failed. This was despite careful preparation, which had included contacting the manufacturer to establish a complete list of local stockists. The problem was that the shops stocked the brand, but not the full range.

The trip, however, was not a complete write-off. We really enjoyed a break for afternoon tea at a traditional tea house and antique shop called Anteaques. In this photo the friendly staff are washing up the cups and saucers of the last customers while making tea for those just arrived. They were incredibly busy looking after everyone, with regular interruptions as hopeful people came through the door to see if there were any free tables. We were extremely lucky to get seats ourselves. Next time I'll know to book.

What I like best here is the bright seam of red tea tins that runs across the middle of the shot.
