#unravel : Found @ Inspace

Was at the very funky InSpace in Edinburgh today for a meeting. It was a good meeting. But what I also, erm, Found good was the current instalation at this futuristic gallery.

#unravel is by funky (and often brilliant) Edinburgh band FOUND. (I went to the same school as band member Tommy and am still friends with his big bro Dougal - so vest interest and claim to fame out in one!)

A record player (governed partly by a barometer that takes into account Time/Mood/Twitter/and something else... controls a series of custom musical instruments. These self-playing instruments soundtrack the story of the narrator as he recounts a memory from his life. Each in response to a different album selected by visitors. (From the - limited selection - I chose Cardigan's Lovefool... what came out the other side sounded very little like chosen track, thankfully, i suppose.)

Each record represents a different memory, and a response to the track, but they sound different every time they are played.

Looked cool. Sounded even cooler.
