send me back to the wild!

Stonewall

One for the texture fans out there today. Just a nice simple piece of observation, and one that's fairly typical around these parts. However, I did like the fact that a bit of careful framing drew attention to the two contrasting colours in the corners.

For shots like this, the VC comes in very handy, as the shutter speed was well below the recommended 1/300s for this focal length and camera combination. It's also worth pointing out that some of the critics of the Tamron 18-270 PZD will remark that it's not as sharp at its extreme than some of the competition. However, it does stretch a bit further, so I wouldn't expect it to necessarily. But just because this one goes all the way up to eleven (if that means nothing, go rent Spinal Tap right now), don't forget that it's still perfectly good at 200mm, which is where most of the other offerings stop.

Nikon D300; Tamron 18-270mm PZD @ 200mm; ISO 400; F/10; 1/50s. VC on.
