Heavenly!

Up a little later this morning due to tiredness from skiing yesterday, and more wind. Lots of wind in fact and again we headed to the Nevada side. I had a few runs, Stagecoach only again, and then we headed to the California side where I skied Canyon and Powderbowl, the only lifts open really. First time I'd skied there and it was surprisingly good. Sky Chair wasn't open, but Canyon had lots of good packed powder and if you dared to venture into the woods there as the occasional powder stash. But you had to be careful; firstly as only 3 days ago there was NO snow in the woods and so there are lots of hidden rocks and tree stumps etc, and secondly as the ski patrol were actively seeking out people who skied the woods and warning them. I was one of them and the patroller politely explained why it wasn't a good idea.

I heeded his warning for a few runs, and then sought out a few stashes "out of their eye".

Perfect day despite the wind.

And then down to the base and beers at the local brew pub. Fantastic "Avalanche" (pale) Ale for $4 at happy hour.

And finally home for another BBQ in the snow, this time BIG snow. The forecast was for 15-30 inches of snow and I could believe it. It was coming down SO hard as we barbequed our steak, with a beer or two to celebrate the snow!
