Cold Tit

I haven't taken any bird photos for a while and they seemed to be on a bit of a feeding frenzy tonight. Although the sun was going down, there was still a shaft of bright light on the feeder so I got out the tripod, big lens and remote release and waited.

The little darlings are starving in this weather so it didn't take long for them to come back and fill their faces. This one is an adult blue tit, one of a pair that live in our garden and usually nest in our bedroom wall in spring.

I really wouldn't want to be a tiny bird in these temperatures at night !
