Ladybird at the top of a volcano?

Decided to take a trip up Mt Ngauruhoe on the Monday after doing the Tongariro crossing on the Saturday. The views on the top were good but these ladybirds fascinated me, how do they end up there, blown with the wind? do they like the volcanic hot steam shooting out the rocks like a boiling kettle?
