The arrival of the snow

It took all afternoon for the snow to gradually set in. There were a few slight flurries and then very light snow for a good couple of hours. It settled immediately on the frozen ground. The wind blew it across the ice on the lake, making attractive windswept patterns. It was only well into the evening when it really started to snow hard, which it is continuing to do, with a good 2-3 inches I should think so far. The traffic is really thinning out and the road is well covered. It will be interesting to see what the morning brings....
