Cat Biscuits

I intially posted a photo of Lake Mahinapua, but then when I went through today's captures properly I liked this better.

My Mum feeds the birds at her house each day and gets quite a variety of finches, sparrows, blackbirds and starlings as well as other visitors. They are all out there waiting in the trees each morning and they know they'll get a feast.

She puts food out on the bird tables and the lawn, but also tucks a few cat biscuits into the arms of this mother gorilla. The cheeky starlings and blackbirds come and poke and prod at the gorilla until they get some. This is a young starling having a feed - taken through the kitchen window.

It was interesting today to see the many stages of the starlings feathers. There was everything there from these fairly plain brown youngsters to the fully fledged black speckled ones.
