St Stephen's Church

While much of the rest of the country is covered in snow, we had no chance to use our sledges as there was none in Edinburgh.

Actually, today was a rather nice sunny day, if a bit chilly. Kryptomart and I had a nice walk round Stockbridge where I blipped the rather lovely St. Stephen's church in not unsurprisingly, St. Stephen's Street.

The church was built in 1827-1828, to a design by architect William Henry Playfair (1789-1857). The first minister of the church was Dr William Muir, who opened an evening school in the large vaulted cellars of the church for the education of the illiterate.
