Paris Dakar Rally

The Newcastle United Supporters' Club (London Branch) set off from London on the 9.00 a.m. train from King's Cross Station this morning. The train was due to arrive in Newcastle at midday, in plenty of time for the Newcastle United V Aston Villa football game (Kick-off at 1.30 p.m.)

A combination of bad weather and broken down trains meant the supporters never made it. They returned to London via Potter's Bar and watched the game in a North London pub.

Newcastle won the game 2-1, with their new Dakar-born striker, Papiss Cisse scoring the winner. Parisian, Demba Ba scored Newcastle's first.

We were ALL there 'in spirit'.
