Feira Hippie and Super Bowl Sunday

Well it's Sunday! And that means the Hippy Fair! It's a great place to buy all the random crap you could want! But actually it's very nice. The jewelry is pretty cheap and there's clothes (which you won't be able to try on before buying) and some really beautiful artwork and handicrafts. In this picture you'll also see a very cool one-man band (with two drums, accordion, and harmonica). As he walked around, one of the tent vendors whipped out some strange instrument that looked kind of gourd-y but sounded almost exactly like a saxophone! It was played more like a tin whistle or recorder though. Anyway, it was a great day.

Later in the evening, Mike and I attended a Catholic mass, my first church ceremony in country. It was all very similar except the homily was... realllllly long. And being in Portuguese, that makes it even longer. We were going to meet with the others afterward at an Irish pub called Shenanigans to watch the Super Bowl, but the entry costs were too high (R$25 per person) so we decided to go home and live stream (with free cachaca and food) for $20 total. With the Packers not in the running, however, I gave up partway through the 3rd. Still didn't sleep enough... :)
