A Suffolk Eye

Face like the side of a bus

We stood in freeeeeezing cold to wave off the nearly-17 year old. He's visiting just about everywhere the Nazis invaded in Eastern Europe in the company of 56 friends and fellow students. A History trip in sub zero temperatures. Which I suspect will add extra empathy to tours of Auschwitz and Terezin and Oskar Schindler's factory, JG Farben.

He may be nearly-17 but he is not above being deeply embarrassed by the presence of parents. I (very nobly) resisted the temptation to burst into theatricaltears, yell "love you fowevva, snookums", blow air kisses, or do anything to diminish his prestige in the eyes of his peers (- And omg it was a great temptation).

Instead I contented myself with snapping the side of the bus . Warped reflections of the school: fence, and playing fields, and buildings - oh, and PJ looking very very cold indeed.
