trouble in paradise

This is the bit of our AC unit where the fan blows cold air into the apartment. Except it didn't today.

repair guy: It's the switch...
(changes switch)

r.g.: It's not the switch...
r.g.: Ah, the transformers gone, I'll go get one

r.g.: right.

(click. psst. smokey smell)

r.g.: ah, well it wasn't just the transformer

etc. etc.

3 transformers down, swapped the thermostat back out, and now he thinks the problem is in the wiring somewhere.


Considering our typical days are mid 30's C and humid, I hope he figures it out soon.
