This is part of the Abbey Conference Centre in Norwich. The abbey in question is Carrow Abbey, in medieval times home to a community of Nuns. Now part of the site on which Colmans (the mustard people) made their name and also lived.

I am involved in organising an Alpine Garden Society day Conference here on 8th September 2012.

The theme for the day is 'Alpines Home & Away - Cultivation and Exploration'

Harry Jans from Holland will talk on 'Using Every Square Inch' - his garden in 'the hills of Holland' and 'The World of Alpines' - his experiences exploring mountains in every continent.

Ian Young from Aberdeen will talk on 'Nature - The Gardeners Tutor' based on his experiences growing alpines and bulbs in Scotland.

Kit Strange who is based at Kew will talk about and demonstrate methods of propagating alpines and bulbs.

All three are excellent, knowledgeable and entertaining speakers. There will also be leading alpine nurseries in attendance and an award winning display of photographs of alpine plants.

Open to everyone, it should be a great day in a fine city. I am happy to send more details and a booking form to anyone who asks! email: tonygatthealpinehouse.fsnet.co.uk

PS Can anyone tell me how to change my profile?
