Travels With 4 Wheel Fred

Good golly it's ffffreeeezing out there!!
I mean, it's really, really, really cold!

Decided to go "up the monument" with the OH tonight. As there was a huge bright moon and I have been wanting to do some light painting up there for ages! Plus, when we got to Langholm there was a good amount of snow. More than we had and it looked as though it had frozen solid.

The journey up the moor road, up Whitta Hill in my little Fred was interesting, we were quite obviously the lowest vehicle up there for a while, as the snow in the centre of the road crunched under the car.

The snow made the track up a little harder going than usual, but some helpful person had obviously gone up and down in a 4x4, providing two tracks for us to walk in.

The photo doesn't really show how much snow there was, but trust me, there was enough.

I don't know if we were visible from anywhere else, or if we could be seen in the town, as there was a lot of waving of lights, flashing of torches and gnashing of teeth (when it didn't come out right). We even had this fantastic £1 LED glowstick from the Range, it has some way out flashing settings on it - I'm fairly sure it should come with a health warning!

Halfway through the list of ideas I had, the moon bid us goodnight behind the cloud and that was that. (The above was taken while there was still moonlight).

It was a good end to the day.
