Let There Be Light

I've never been able to capture a cardinal on the fly but this morning's dusting of snow brought along a nice opportunity.

The cardinal sat alone in the center of my massive tangled rose bush, enjoying perhaps fifteen minutes of inner peace without the constant chittering and chirping of the thirty sparrows who usually possess the branches. He looked as content and safe as a little bird could be.

A handful of sunflower seeds coaxed him out and within a minute he'd spied, dived and flied...away.
