Even ice can't crack British reserve

I cycle past Ely Cathedral pretty much every day but I barely ever stop. In the snow I had to.

I fell off my bike near the cathedral this week, but the great thing about doing that in the ice is that no-one points or laughs. It's almost expected.

I mean, no-one asks if you're ok either, but that's just the British way of not being able to address a stranger for fear of being labelled a freak.
