just a Moment in the wood

Beached whale.

This was such a sad sight.

When I caught sight of this, passing by Connel bridge, I was struck by such a sense of melancholy. It seemed so out of place, so awkward in this setting, so misplaced. It was a beached whale of a boat; once designed to slip through water, speared by the rocks, held against them by rope and chain.

It had been so grey and overcast a day that I had given up on an outdoor blip. I'm finding, only a few days into this challenge, that I'm stopping, getting out, and pursuing shots that in the past I would have been willing to let slip past. I'll give it a couple more weeks!
