There was only one small spot on the lace-edged white linen over-cloth that graced the dinner table last Saturday, but that was enough to necessitate a bit of laundering to get it back to its best.

I really shouldn't have waited until yesterday to pop it in the machine, especially not on a wet, miserable day like that. Without a tumble drier, the table cloth had to be draped over a clothes horse in front of a radiator to dry it out. The grand plan was to get it out onto the clothesline today to freshen it up a bit, but that wasn't such a good idea on a foggy day like today. Actually, it was maybe just as well that it wasn't fully dried out when I tackled the tricky task of ironing it this afternoon, since dry linen (as everyone knows, I'm sure) is the very devil to iron properly.

Anyway, the job got done finally. It was only when I went to put the cloth away until the next time that I thought it might just merit having the camera pointed at it. So here it is. It's safely put away again now, ready and waiting for its next command appearance.
