Bruschetta for Lunch

Not really the season for this but I had some old bread and some tomatoes that had seen better days that needed to be used up. I am also quite proud to have managed to keep a basil plant alive in the kitchen over the winter.
So we have bread that was sliced, brushed with olive oil and baked oil side down, topped with tomatoes, peeled, deseeded and chopped, some shredded basil, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt and pepper.
It was delicious by the way!
