I'm no baby gator!

We rented bikes for our week on Sanibel Island, and one of our trips was through the "Ding" Darling wildlife sanctuary.

It was about 15 miles round trip from our condo, great weather, courteous drivers and bikers, and some interesting wildlife. Our favorite was this little gator, especially because you can see those strong legs under the water. I liked the reflections, too.

After the sanctuary, we had a GREAT lunch at Doc Ford's. I love the restaurant, and the books written about the character Doc Ford and Sanibel Island. The author, Randy Wayne White, has lived and written on the island, as well as many other exotic places.

A tropical storm rolled in as we finished lunch, and we rode the last 4 miles home laughing in the rain.
