Why yes, plants CAN glow!

Well, some sagebrush does.

Artemesia tridentata var. wyomingensis does not fluoresce, while A. tridentata var. vaseyana WILL fluoresce. Hybrids of the two will fluoresce somewhat less than vaseyana, but it depends on the level of hybridization.

To test, you crush the leaves and put them in water and shake it up. Kill the lights and turn on the UV light. Observe.
