The Kennet and Avon in Bath

I woke up about an hour & a half later than usual and feeling much more my usual self. This afternoon we drove the dozen or so miles over to Bathampton and walked along the Kennet and Avon canal into Bath.

This was probably the best section of the canal that we've walked so far. The canal went past the MoD site at Warminster Road where I worked for 10 years, through Sydney Gardens and through the final four locks (including one which is among the deepest lock in Britain) to its end - the canal starts / ends where it joins the River Avon, just behind the railway station.

I would have liked to have leaned out and taken this a little further to the right, thus avoiding the temporary orange fence, but the bank was slippery, sloping and crumbling - hence the temporary orange fence!
