Afternoon tea

Afternoon tea at the Singing Kettle Tea Shoppe. A traditional English tea rooms in a traditional English coastal town. Scones, chutney, cheese, clotted cream, jam, fruit, silver pots, leaf tea, and cake stands on a Sunday afternoon. There was also an egg timer to ensure the tea was brewed so it was obviously a high class establishment and Alan Bennett territory. The tables were close enough to indulge in the power of positve eavesdropping but disappointingly there was nothing to capture the imagination, and no games to play pretending 'the man in the gabardine suit was a spy', etc. Just people like us. Afterwards we browsed in in the little shoppes, wife, son and daughter in law for company, a day of favourite things.
