Trial Run

Today we decided to have a practice at making Oscar's birthday cake (after all there are only 6 months to go!).

The top two layers have pureed blueberries in them (I guess that's why the sponge did not rise enough?) and the bottom two have vanilla pod paste in them. The outside is a mixture of whipped cream and mascarpone. In-between the layers is blueberry jam!

Although we might still have to work on the look of the cake for the big day, the taste is pretty much spot on!
