Valletta

We had arrived into Valletta on Friday without realising it was the holiday dedicated to St Paul and the Shipwreck.

Vibrant colour banners draped the narrow streets as religious statues on plinths looked down on proceedings. A brass band boomed while tons of ticker tape fell from the sky. The next morning, the crews started to remove the large banners, then the plinths were dismantled. They were only made of wood yet they looked like marble, very impressive.

Life slowly returned to normal.
