Kanaval de Jakmel

The week before carnaval, the carnaval of Jacmel takes place.
Allthough carnaval will be celebrated everywhere next week, the official Haitian carnaval always takes place in 1 location. The location is defined by the government, who is also sponsoring the event.
The Jacmel carnaval is the students carnaval and the most famous of all. Jacmel carnaval is mostly known because of it's beautifull paper maché outfits.

We undertook a trip with a big bunch of colleagues and had a great weekend partying and enjoying Haitian culture.

Alltough carnaval is different everywhere, I felt at home very quickly =D
Just too bad that you are not supposed to wear a costume when you're watching the parade...
