One Crowded Hour

lunch box

Now this is a lunch box. No wilting sandwich and mulching watermelon in a bag suffering from heat stroke.

Today I had lunch with my mate Su at Shilla, a Korean restaurant in East Perth. Su and I met at uni when we were both engrossed in the fascinating, if somewhat confronting, study of Forensic Science. Many interesting discussions of tiny pollen grains, shallow graves ',salted' gold deposits and cold cases have been conducted over spectacular Burmese and Indian curries cooked by her from scratch.
Today was no different except it was over this beautiful 'box' of chilli beef and all the trimmings while Su slurped on fishcake soup with even more trimmings.
The little bowl on the right contains kimchi, a traditional Korean condiment made from fermented cabbage and absolutely delicious. No longer think of cabbage boiled to a past life existence, think kimchi!
